Research Paper 101- Middle /Highschool
Writing your first research paper can be scary but with good scaffolding and support students can build skills that will follow them through life. Join us for this 8 week workshop. Students will work through the steps of writing a research paper from brainstorming through the final draft. Students will meet weekly for lessons on the steps but independent work will be required. They will learn about finding reliable sources, citing work correctly, and peer editing. Students must have an internet connected device for class (preferably one with access to a program like Word or Google Docs). Students can join the class in person or via zoom. Support and feedback by Ms. Jamie will be available throughout the process. * Research topics will be determined by the student unless a student needs to work the class into a subject area for awarding credit, such as writing about The Physics of Star Wars for Physics.
